The operating systems of cloud servers mainly include Windows system and Linux system. When choosing, you can choose the appropriate operating system according to your own operating habits. For most users, they will still choose the Windows version of the cloud server. Next, the editor will introduce to you what to pay attention to when using Windows cloud servers.
1. Do not install antivirus software and third-party firewalls
The hardware nodes of the system are already equipped with anti-virus software, which can detect and kill most viruses. Installing and running anti-virus software in the cloud server is not only redundant, but will also affect the operating efficiency of the cloud server system. It is not recommended to install any anti-virus software on the cloud server to avoid system breakdown. Do not install any firewall, which will cause the system to fail to start. Antivirus software has been installed on the server to provide full-disk virus monitoring, and an ARP firewall is installed to prevent ARP spoofing. It is recommended to use the Windows built-in firewall for port shielding in the cloud server.
2. Do not update system patches
The system will automatically obtain the latest Windows patches and install them automatically, without manual intervention. Installing system patches in the cloud server will lead to cloud server system crash and data loss in severe cases.
3. Do not install a third-party firewall
If you need a firewall, please use the built-in firewall function of windows. Installing a third-party firewall in the cloud server will cause the cloud server system to crash and data to be lost.
4. Do not open the firewall casually
The relevant security settings have been made when the cloud server is delivered for use, and the security is relatively high. It is recommended not to open the firewall casually. If you open the firewall yourself, you must also open the following necessary ports: 21 (FTP), 3389 (remote connection), 80 ( Website http), 3306 (MySQL), 1433 (SQL Server). Regularly check whether there are suspicious accounts and system logs, and pay attention to the permission settings of the website folder. If the data is deleted due to the intrusion of the cloud server, you will be responsible for the consequences.
5. Do not modify the remote desktop connection port
Due to the particularity of the cloud server system, the default remote desktop port is 3389. It cannot be changed at will, otherwise the remote connection will not be possible.
6. It is recommended to log out the user
Except for some programs that must be run when the user is logged in, it is recommended to log out the user when exiting the remote connection, which can save memory resources and prevent the situation that the maximum number of connections will be exceeded during the next login. If the maximum number of connections is exceeded, the cloud server can be restarted.
7. Do not manually modify the registry
Try not to manually modify the registry to prevent the cloud server from being unable to start. To modify the remote port, be sure to add the modified port in the firewall first, and then restart. In case the remote connection port is blocked by the firewall, please contact us in time.
8. To modify the configuration file of IIS, be sure to back up the file first, and then modify it with software that can preserve the file format, so as to prevent the configuration file format from being damaged and make IIS unusable.
9. The website service of the cloud server and the FTP service of IIS are manually enabled by default. If you are a webmaster, please set the last service, World Wide Web Publishing Service, to automatic. If you need to use the FTP service of IIS frequently, please set FTP The Publishing Service service is set to automatic, that is, it can be automatically started at boot. If you are using serv-u, just hook the option of setting it as a system service. In terms of security and resource consumption, it is recommended that users who do not use FTP frequently do not set it to automatic.
The above are the precautions for using Windows cloud server, I hope it is useful to everyone!
